I'm testing out mobile email posting, so here goes. I'm sitting on a plane, just about to take off from Frankfurt. It's my 9th trip to Europe in the last year for business, and this trip was extremely short. I arrived Monday at 7am local time and I'm leaving Tuesday at 11am local time. I'm hoping the trip was short enough I'll avoid any jet lag. We'll see.
The only bright side to these trips is that I've been a United Global Services member for a while now and I usually get upgraded to 1st class.
Today, I'm on my favorite flight - the upgraded United 767-300. It has a sweet first class "cocoon" (see picture). It honestly makes the 8 hour flight a pleasure.
I've also posted a picture of the Cathedral ("Dom") in Cologne. I took it a couple trips back, but this is basically the view from the hotel I stayed in this trip.
Here's another picture of Cologne - this time from the top of the Cathedral.

Do you want me to go on your next trip for you? I've always wanted to see Germany! :) (You should never post pictures of first class--Kara and I will NOT feel sorry for your frequent travel!)
How come they don't send senior missionaries this way to foreign countries? Don't they know we're old and need pampered treatment! I'll be happy to know you're back home and able to help Kara with your five and two extras and that the ash cloud didn't get you. Pretty amazing you can send a blog post on the plane.
That looks about like the red eye Autumn, Grandma, and I all took to Amsterdam. Well, minus the cushy reclining chair, good food, leg room, desk nook and power plug, and moist towelette. Not too shabby if you ask me... Glad you don't have to be there too long this time.
That is very interesting. I didn't know you could go to Europe and back that fast or that they had such accomodations on a plane. Thanks for sharing.

Love this blog! We enjoy all the photos and are glad the 8 hour trip can be made more comfortable for you and you are also able to acquire more frequent flyers!
Glad it was such a short trip and you didn't get delayed by the volcano.
